It is ten years since Electra’s father was murdered by her mother, and her world collapsed. Time has not eased her grief nor softened her all-consuming desire for revenge. Carrie Cracknell, the director of the original production of this haunting play describes it as a tale of a family, a tale of grief ‘about how losing someone abruptly can leave a scar so deep that it never truly heals’. It is a play about murder, about mothers and daughters, and of siblings forced to live with and confront the choices made by their parents…

Would you like to take part?

We have a 180 seat hall with raked theatre seating, full theatre lighting with a new lighting desk, a convivial bar, and people who are keen to pass on their knowledge of running shows. So, whether you’re studying theatre, wanting to build your practical experience, looking to keep fresh a set of skills that you’ve used in your trade or career, or just looking for a new social activity, we’d love to hear from you.

The annual membership – £20 for adults, £10 for juniors – gives you access to all our great resources; we think it’s good value whether you want to make the QPs your amdram ‘home’ or if you prefer to pick and choose productions with different groups.

We’re celebrating our 73rd anniversary this year, and at the same time we’re very much looking forwards to adapting to the times and playing our part in maintaining a thriving amateur dramatic scene across the region. If you’d like to join us, we’d love to see you.
